Multan Sultan Won the Match

Competitive Analysis
Multan Sultans did well to finish second in HBL PSL 9 as they beat Karachi Kings by 55 runs at their home ground, Multan Cricket Stadium. Reeza Hendricks and Dawid Malan scored half-centuries in the first innings to take the team to 185 runs. In reply, Karachi Kings could only manage 130-8 in their 20 overs. After winning the toss, Karachi Kings captain Shan Masood asked Multan Sultans to bat first. Sudan suffered when Mir Hamza hit captain Mohammad Rizwan on the first ball of the third over, Mohammad Rizwan converted and scored 11 off 12 balls, including two boundaries. Hendricks has dominated the game since the start of his HBL PSL debut and will look to make an impact in the power play. After joining Malan in the first wicket in the record, the South African bowler helped stitch a second-wicket partnership of 121 runs to make the innings strong.

Malan completed his half-century before losing to HBL PSL debutant Daniel Sams in the last seventeen. The left-handed batsman returned to the field after scoring 52 for 41 with four boundaries and one high. Khusdil Shah was the next batsman, entertaining the crowd with his unbeaten 28 off 13 balls followed by four boundaries. The 47-run partnership between Khushdil and Hendricks was unbroken and Multan Sultans were all out for 185 in 20 overs. Hendricks, who made an unbeaten 79 for 54 as he hit 7 fours and 3 sixes, was named man of the match after finishing as player of the tournament. Sams and Hamzah are the two goalkeepers for Karachi Kings. Chasing 186 runs, Karachi Kings started the match badly. Open batsman James Vince (5, 4b, 1x4) caught third man Mohammad after David Willey managed to pull the outside edge off the second ball of the third over. Mohammad Ali was captured. In the next match, Pakistan U19 captain Saad Baig scored a golden duck as Karachi Kings took a 10-2 lead thanks to Willey's assist.

The left-arm batsman's lethal performance with the new ball justified Multan Sultans' decision to select the English batsman as their first choice in the HBL PSL 9 draft. A 52-run third wicket partnership between Shan and veteran Shoaib Malik made the innings look solid. However, the match ended in the ninth over when Willey took a single (30, 31b, 4x4, 1x6) from leg-spinner Usama Mir. Mohammad Nawaz stands in the middle with Malik. The pair put on a 37-run stand before right-armer Abbas Afridi struck the last over in the 14th over. Malik, who had to bounce back after hitting his 83rd T20 fifty, scored 53 for 35 with five fours and two sixes. At the same time, Nawaz scored just seven runs from extra cover by Hendricks and Karachi Kings were in trouble. Things took a turn for the worse for Karachi Kings in the fifteenth over when Muhammad Ali bowled to the right for Multan Sultans with two wickets and just one run. He dismissed Hamza in the next game. Keiron Pollard crossed the boundary twice in the last over in an attempt to reduce the deficit, however, with 67 runs needed in the final two overs, the game was out of reach.

Karachi Kings. Ali was Multan's best batsman and took three wickets in the fourth innings but scored just 23 runs to help Multan Sultans win against Karachi Kings. Abbas shot 2 for 16 in three overs and Willie backed up Ali's efforts with two for 22 in the fourth over. Usama also sent an assassin.
